The architectural experience begins with orientation. The Founder’s Memorial not only orients towards the obvious city skyline, but it is acutely aware of its baby brother, the Old Parliament House, perhaps the oldest surviving building in Singapore, which is the origin of the ripple that has moved through time and memory, that is now to be commemorated in this new built form. The two buildings complete an intellectual sentence.
