Pair of townhouses in a sensitive street environment. Politically challenging council project. Client’s emotional brief was ‘rural retreat’ meets ’Scandinavian coolness’. The functional brief was to dematerialize/lighten/blur the internal/exterior boundaries, yet create linked zones for living with a fluid space that interacts with rear yard and park beyond.
