The winning entry in the limited competition. Situated in Xian and taking cues from the terracotta soldiers to create a symbolic marker/compass in space of various key city landmarks with each ‘reed’ aligning with these.
The 250m tall tower comprising of retail, commercial, activity centres, apartment housing and a 5-star hotel. The design is founded on principles of geometric clarity and openness that are reflected in its horizontal and vertical organization of space, within ESD principles, whilst exploring emotional ideas of formal purity, material clarity and transparency.
